Corbin’s Bio

“Santa Clause gave me my first violin when I was two years old. I was downtown in Union Square in San Francisco with my parents during Christmas time. An instrument store caught my attention and I wanted to get a better look. As my parents and I entered, I stared at the violins and stroked the string of one hanging near me. The beauty of the instrument instantly won me over! When I got the chance to see Santa a little later, I ran as fast as I could to tell him I wanted a violin for Christmas. Sure enough, I received exactly what I wanted from ‘Santa’ and started taking private music lessons when I was four.” That moment has led Corbin to create his own nonprofit organization, Music4Happiness, hence the number 4. The aim of his non-profit is to bring joy to others and make a difference around the world through the power of music. In addition to playing the violin, Corbin is fluent in Mandarin - reading, writing, and speaking - having attended Chinese American International School for 10 years and studying the Chinese language through high school. His study abroad includes three home-stay programs in Asia. Now, at the University of Colorado Boulder, he keeps up both of these life skills simultaneously with a major in Music Performance and a double minor in Chinese and Business. Corbins’ 15 years of violin training and performance have given him the passion and knowledge to learn an extensive range of music production skills. He is now producing his own electronic music and incorporating his violin as a unique differentiator.
